We first went on a Friday, in July, which probably wasn't the best idea. Almost every site was filled. Wasn't too bad, but I would have preferred more privacy.. The next time we went we camped During the week and had the whole place to ourselves. It was such an amazing time having the raccoons all swarm our site because there wasn't anyone to scare them away. Such a good experience. The last time we went on Halloween because it was in the 70s and had one person beside us, we asked if we could move but they said we couldn't do that. Could have gone without their humming generator, but still made the best out of it. Moral of the story, if your a recluse, go during the week and check before you book if you have any neighbors.
A wonderful place to go camping and boating. We will be coming back next year.
Great time. The campground has really cleaned up since I was down here last. DNR makes regular patrols of the area and water.
Very friendly staff at the front gate. Nice clean beach, although it could use a deeper area. Bathrooms were clean. Main path was paved and well kept. The big problems are in the campsites. The campsites are close together and significantly non-level. Leveling front to back is not a significant issue, but a majority of the sites were not level left to right. The leveling problems led to us breaking a jack which could have been quite dangerous. In addition we were forced to leave early due to a sick dog.
Good if you boat or want lake access, but camping is average
